To be born again means to experience a spiritual transformation—a new life given by God. Jesus talks about this in John 3:3, saying, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." This new birth happens when we trust in Jesus Christ.
First, recognize your need for Jesus. The Bible tells us that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God, so we must turn away from it—a turning called repentance.
Next, believe in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again to give us new life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). By believing, you put your trust in Him, relying on His sacrifice to make you right with God.
Then, receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord. John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." This means accepting Jesus, submitting to His leadership in your life, and following His ways.
Pray with sincerity, confessing your sins, and asking Jesus to forgive you and make you new. As you do, God will work a miracle in your heart, making you born again—His beloved child. Reach out to a local church or believers for support as you grow in this new life.
