Bible Study Helper Questions & Answers

What happens after I die?

Answers from the Bible, in your language.

After you die, the Bible teaches that your soul continues on. If you trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, you can have the hope of eternal life with God in heaven. Jesus promises this in John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."

For those who receive and follow Jesus, death is the entrance into an eternal life of joy and peace in God's presence—a life that is more wonderful than anything we can imagine. However, if a person rejects Christ, the Bible warns of eternal separation from God, which is a fate deeply to be avoided.

The choice is profound: life with Christ or apart from Him. God offers His grace freely for those who turn from their sins and trust in Jesus alone. In His great love, God does not want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved (2 Peter 3:9).

Today, the invitation is open to you. Jesus' death and resurrection provide the way to eternal life. Trust in Him, submit to Him as Lord of your life, and you will find hope, peace, and the assurance of life everlasting in His presence.
