What does the Bible say about healing?

Answers from the Bible, in your language.

The Bible speaks about healing as a wonderful gift from God, showing His compassion and power. Jesus, during His earthly ministry, healed many people from different sicknesses, revealing that He is the Great Physician. In Matthew 8:16-17, we're told how He healed the sick to fulfill the prophecy of taking away our infirmities and diseases. This shows His deep care for our well-being.

While physical healing is a great blessing, the Bible also points to a deeper healing — that of our souls. Through Jesus Christ, we have the promise of ultimate healing from sin and death. By His suffering, death, and resurrection, He offers us forgiveness and new life. Isaiah 53:5 says, "by His stripes we are healed," referring to the healing of our hearts and relationship with God.

God can still heal today, and we are encouraged to pray for the sick, asking for His touch (James 5:14-15). However, we must also trust God's wisdom, knowing He may choose to heal in different ways or times. Whatever the outcome, He calls us to trust Him fully, for He works all things for our good and His glory. Let us find our ultimate hope and healing in Jesus, our Savior and Lord.
