The gospel is the heart of the Christian faith, the most wonderful news anyone can hear. At its core, it's the good news about Jesus Christ, who He is and what He accomplished for us.
The gospel tells us that Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth and became a man (John 1:14). He lived without sin and perfectly obeyed God the Father. Though He was without sin, Jesus took upon Himself our sins when He died on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21), paying the penalty we deserved. This was out of His immense love and grace towards us, saving us from the judgment our sins required.
Three days after His death, Jesus rose from the grave, proving His victory over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Because He lives, we too can have eternal life. When we turn away from our sins—a decision called repentance—and trust in Jesus, we receive forgiveness and new life (Acts 3:19).
This is the glorious gospel: that through faith in Jesus, we are made right with God and brought into His family. He offers us life, peace, and the hope of eternal joy with Him. Trust in the Lord Jesus as your Savior and Lord today. He promises to be with us, now and forever.
