Marriage is a beautiful gift from God. In the beginning, God created marriage between one man and one woman. Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” This reflects God’s design for intimacy and unity in a lifelong covenant.
Marriage is meant to mirror Christ’s love for the church. Ephesians 5:25 instructs husbands, “Love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it.” In this, marriage becomes a living picture of selfless love, where both husband and wife serve and honor one another in reverence to Christ.
Marriage also provides a foundation for raising children in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Proverbs 22:6 encourages parents to “train up a child in the way he should go.”
While marriage is a blessing, it is not always easy. Couples are called to forgive, to be patient, and to love sacrificially. The strength to do this comes from leaning on Jesus, who said in John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches… apart from me you can do nothing.”
In Christ, there is grace and strength for every marriage to reflect His love and faithfulness. Trust Him to work in your heart and your home.
