Bible Study Helper Questions & Answers

How can I pray to God?

Answers from the Bible, in your language.

Prayer is simply talking with God, your loving Father. You don’t need fancy words or special rituals. Begin by acknowledging God as your Creator and Savior. Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13, which starts with honoring God’s name and seeking His will—“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done.”

When you pray, come humbly, knowing that Jesus made the way for us to approach God. Share your heart honestly, telling Him your joys, fears, and needs, trusting that He cares deeply for you (1 Peter 5:7). Ask for forgiveness where needed, because God is faithful to forgive when we confess (1 John 1:9), and ask for help to forgive others.

Thank God for His goodness and blessings in your life, and express gratitude for His constant presence. End your prayer in faith, trusting God’s wisdom, and asking in Jesus’ name, because He is our Mediator (John 14:13-14).

Remember, God longs to hear from you and loves to listen. Even when words fail, His Spirit helps us pray (Romans 8:26-27). Come to Him as a child to a loving father, confident in His love for you through Jesus Christ.
